Volleyball (Boys & Girls)

South Loop Elementary School offers competitive volleyball for athletes in 5th – 8th grade. Athletes compete in games against other schools across the city. Each athlete must be able to provide his/her transportation to/from games and practice. Attendance at team practices and competitions are required of all athletes.

  • Eligibility: Teams are limited to 12 athletes per team (i.e. 5th/6th grade boys team/girls team and  7th/8th grade boys team/girls team).  If there are more than 9 athletes interested in joining the volleyball team, coaches will determine a Varsity and Jr. Varsity team with Varsity members playing in the CPS league games.
  • Season: Fall (late August – early November)
  • Commitment:
    • Girls: Tuesday & Thursday practices (3:30 pm – 4:45 pm), there will be 6 – 8 games (includes playoffs and championship) on Saturday (times tbd) during the season. 
    • Boys: TBD practices, 6-8 games (inclusive of playoffs and championships) on Saturdays (times tbd) during the season.
