6th-8th Grade: SCIENCE OLYMPIAD INFO MEETING

SCIENCE OLYMPIAD MEETING OCTOBER 2nd after school (3:30): As some of you may already know, Mr. Ziolo and Mr. Bruesch run an after school program called Science Olympiad ( http://www.illinoisolympiad.org/ ) that is a STEM based competition for students from middle school through high school. This is South Loop’s 3rd year doing Science Olympiad and we are trying to grow the program and become a leader within CPS in STEM.

If you are interested in having your child participate in this program, we will be having an informational meeting for students on Wednesday, October 2nd immediately after school in the 3rd floor science lab (Mr. Ziolo’s room 310). You can read more about the events in Olympiad through the hyperlink above.
This program is something that can be started here at South Loop and continued on into high school as many of the Chicago high schools offer it as well.
If you need more information or have any questions, please reach out to Mr. Ziolo and we will try to address them as they arrive.
Part of the reason for this meeting is to determine which day of the week works best for most students. At this point, our after school practices will be Monday’s from 3:30-5:30. We may be opening up a morning session as well for students, but again, that is TBD.

Thank you for your time and consideration,
Mr. Kevin Ziolo
