Dear SLES Community,
On behalf of Friends and Family of South Loop School, we hope you are doing well.
As most students and families, we are hopeful that school resumes regularly in the fall. We recognize that remote learning has many challenges. Since the start of remote learning we have continued to support SLES with online tools, virtual fields trips, and professional development for teachers. We want to assure you that Friends and Family will continue to work closely with the school administration to support the ongoing needs of SLES and fulfill our mission to support the school with resources not already provided by CPS.
The way we are able to provide these important resources is through donations from families, neighbors, local businesses, and friends of the school. The annual Benefit we host in the spring is tentatively rescheduled for October 23, 2020, pending the phased re-opening of the City of Chicago and CPS regulations.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who continues to support our school, whether through giving or volunteering. Our fundraising success would not be possible without the many volunteers who work tirelessly to help plan, coordinate, and run fundraising events every year.
We look forward to updating the SLES community on next steps on fundraising efforts in the fall. In the meantime, please let us know if you have questions or ideas about where Friends and Family can provide support. You can contact us at ffsles@gmail.com. We understand this may be a time of hardship for many families, but if you can support, please make a donation in the focus area of your choice.
We wish you and your families good health and a wonderful summer.
Sincerely,
Friends and Family of South Loop School Board
