I hope you had a wonderful summer filled with adventure, relaxation, and memories. I know fifth grade parents are excited to complete their summer packets 🙂 . We are very excited to welcome everyone back to a brand new school year. To new families joining South Loop, welcome to the family!
While we are ecstatic to begin the year in our brand new state of the art Middle School, we have not forgotten about our Primary building (1212 S Plymouth). The Primary Building has received fresh coats of paint, new partitions for the washrooms, repairs and updates to the stairwells, floor replacement in Room 213 (which will go back to being our music room), and brand new carpet in the library and Little Theater. These improvements will surely make South Loop School’s first home feel brand new!
I am looking for volunteers to help set up the library in the Primary building during the first two weeks of school. Volunteers can come anytime between 8am to 5pm. We also need volunteers for Kiss’n’Go at both the Primary and Middle School buildings. Please make sure you are already approved to volunteer and email me if you would like to help!
Prior to the start of the school year, please read the Parent Handbook. In the upcoming days, be sure to check the school website and daily reminders for any important updates and reminders for the first day of school. We are thrilled to start the 2019-2020 school year. We are a uniform school. Students are expected to follow the school and gym uniform policies at all times.
August 21st- December 2nd: Pay School Fee: This fee can be paid by credit card or check online HERE or cash/ money order in the main office
August 21st – June 16th: If you are new to South Loop School and want to volunteer or didn’t complete an application last school year, please click on the link: application. If you are a returning volunteer, I will recertify your application before the start of the school year.
August 26th- September 6th: Sign up for Aspen Parent Portal
August 26th-28th- 8:00am – 3:00pm : Drop off school supplies to the main office. Label bag with your child’s name and grade. Supply lists are available here.
August 28th – 8:00- 3:00 pm: Class list posted at the Primary Building only
August 29th- 6:00-7:00 pm: Building Tours.
Visit the Primary and Middle School buildings
September 3rd: First Day of School- Parents may walk their child to the classroom on this first day only.
