Dear South Loop Family,
REMINDER
Testing begins this week April 21st
Every year, Chicago Public Schools administers federally-required state assessments that not only demonstrate how our students are growing academically compared to their peers across the state, but also help us determine where additional school support and resources are needed. This year, all in person learners will take these assessments this school year. As we continue to navigate our response to COVID-19, please know that our top priority is keeping our students and educators safe. ALL current health and safety measures will continue to be in place during these test administrations.
This spring, all in person learners will take the following assessments:
Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR), which measures student mastery of the Illinois Learning Standards in English language arts/literacy and mathematics in grades 3 through 8. Over the course of two to three days, students will take the IAR between April 21 and May 28, 2021.
The Illinois Science Assessment (ISA), which measures student mastery of the Illinois Learning Standards in Science in grades 5 and 8. Over the course of one to two days, students will take the ISA between April 21 and June 11, 2021.
The Assessing Comprehension and Communication in English from State to State (ACCESS), which measures student growth in English language proficiency for identified English Language learners in grades Kindergarten through grade 8. Over the course of two-three days, students will take the ACCESS between April 21 and June 11, 2021.
Remote parents you will be contacted to bring your child for testing if you signed up.
PLEASE NOTE: Students MUST bring headphones/earbuds and pencils DAILY during testing.
Thank you for your commitment to your student’s academic success.
Sincerely,
Principal, Tara Shelton
