As we, and the entire state, become accustomed to the new law legalizing marijuana, we have decided it is important to reevaluate our current food policy to ensure the safety of all our students. We have decided to change the policy on snacks that can be mistaken for “edibles”.
The following snacks can only be sent to school in their original packaging:
Any Baked Goods
• Cookies
• Brownies etc…
Gummies
• Fruit Snacks
• Gummy Candy etc…
Homemade baked goods, gum, candy & chocolates are never allowed in school at anytime.
These items must be store bought and in single-serve packaging. If a student brings these to school out of its original packaging, they will be confiscated, and given back to the student to take home at the end of the day.
Students can have goldfish, popcorn , fruit, veggies, chips, pretzels, etc. These type of snacks can still be sent to school outside of its original packaging or cut up.
Please understand, we are implementing this policy for the safety of all our students and hopefully eliminate the risk of any students accidentally bringing in cannabis infused food items to school.
Please also remind you children, sharing food is never allowed.
This change is effective immediately.
Thank you.
