SLES will be participating in the CPS Scores! Basketball season from Nov 2022 – Feb 2023, beginning the week of November 8.
While there are no try outs or cuts, team participation is available to the first 15 registrants in each age/gender category to maintain adequate coach to athlete ratios and best manage practices.
This league is competitive and coaches will determine a Varsity and Junior Varsity Team if there are over 10 players on the team. The full team will practice and scrimmage together at each practice and the Varsity players (Score+) will play in the regular season CPS games. Volunteer parents will work to set up an additional scrimmage (outside of practice) with Daystar to provide JV players game time, but these are not guaranteed and are dependent on schedules of the volunteers, schools, and coaches in setting these up.
A waitlist will be maintained in case a student who previously signed up as one of the first 15 is no longer able to participate. Mrs. Shelton will make final approvals for students participating in school sponsored teams.
Below are the links to register your student for a team, as well as practice information (subject to change). Practice schedules are noted below and all take place at the Middle School gym (1601 S Dearborn). Before registering, please note attendance at team practice is required.
Dates for CPS League competitive games are TBD and more information will be provided to registered participants. Last year, all games were at Farragut High School.
