We are writing with an update regarding this week’s scheduled town hall.
Last night, the Greater Bronzeville Community Action Council (GBCAC) hosted their monthly meeting. In that meeting, CAC stakeholders raised concerns regarding the proposed Near South High School. Specifically, the CAC cited a need for the district to pause its scheduled engagements to regroup and more intentionally plan with the GBCAC to begin planning for the broader region, including Phillips, Dunbar and Dusable.
In the interest of being responsive to one of our partners and a NSHS design team member, and in the interest of identifying the best way to expand educational opportunities for students in the area, we have made the decision to pause this week’s scheduled Near South High School events, including our weekly design team meetings, as well as the scheduled town hall.
