Middle School Families,
As a parent (School Leader), you should never have a favorite child, but my favorite children are returning back to school and I am so excited. We are proud and excited to welcome back our middle school hybrid students on March 8th. Much has changed since our middle schoolers were last with us in person, but what has remained constant is our drive to provide them with a top quality middle school education and experience that will prepare them for high school and beyond.
I know the choice of whether to return to school or remain in remote learning was not an easy one for our families. Please know that we have dedicated ourselves to ensuring strong student learning and growth for both our hybrid and remote students. I know that by working together, communicating about needs and concerns, and remaining focused on learning, we will accomplish great things in the coming months, like we always do at South Loop.
As the leaders of the school, I expect my 6th-8th graders to set the tone for South Loop. I expect my leaders to show their Lion P.R.I.D.E. and to remember that in the current climate, safety must be at the core of everything we strive for. I look forward to seeing my 6th-8th graders who have opted to return back in class next week. For those who have opted to stay remote, I understand your decision and your concerns, and we as a staff will continue to work together to keep you on track, learning, and growing.
