Remote Learning Support from Youth Guidance

Hello South Loop Families,

I hope that this email finds you and your families well!  Thank you so much for your patience with Youth Guidance as we got virtual after school and in-person pod learning plans off the ground.  Providing programming that is safe, fun, enriching, and that meets the standards and guidelines of Youth Guidance, CPS and the CDC is extremely important to us.

Youth Guidance is offering in-person pod learning to support students during their remote CPS school day while they complete their virtual schoolwork. Due to space restrictions, we are only able to offer 10 spots to students. Programming will follow your child’s classroom schedule set by their CPS teacher. Students will be expected to work at individual tables with required materials (laptop, notebook, pencils, headphones) provided by parents and brought from home each day. Two facilitators will be available to guide student learning, but this is not a tutoring service.

Additionally, we are offering virtual after school enrichments, including a daily enrichment called Hit Refresh! in which students will have the opportunity to re-connect with one another through group discussions and collaborative activities. Returning YG program instructor, Ms. Neena, will teach a Yoga class, our Spanish vendor will lead a Spanish enrichment, and we are offering Origami and two art classes as well, all through Google Meet.
