Summer Camp- Enrichments

Hello South Loop Parents!

This summer we are offering four enrichment programs!!! Ballet, We Got Game, Art and Soccer will all be hosted at South Loop Elementary this Summer. Your student does not have to be enrolled in summer camp to take enrichment classes.

JOFFREY BALLET – LEVINE BRIDGE PROGRAM 

Who: K-1st Grade

When: June 1st – August 15th on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:00-11:00

Where: Main Building (1212 S. Plymouth Court

Number of Classes: 7 (Mondays); 7 (Wednesday)

The Beth Levine Bridge Program is aligned with The Chicago Guide for Teaching and Learning in the Artsand is designed to introduce students to the basic elements of classical ballet. This program provides kindergarten through first Grade students with a highly structured dance experience where they also develop life skills, creativity and physical awareness. One of the main goals of the program is to identify and train the next generation of dancers at the Joffrey Academy of Dance, Official School of The Joffrey Ballet.

WE GOT GAME 

Who: K-8th  

When:  K-2nd– July 1st – August 12th on Mondays from 9:30-10:30

3rd-6th – July 1st – August 12th on Mondays from 10:30-11:30

This class will feature a different sport every four weeks, featuring lacrosse, dodgeball, and soccer. Players will have the opportunity to try new sports and learn new skills through drills, skill-based games, and scrimmages. Coaches will stress the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship to students.

YOUNG REMBRANDTS 

Who: K-6th Grade

When:  K-6th – July 3rd – August 18th on Wednesdays from 10:00am-11:00am

Young Rembrandts was created to be fun. Young Rembrandts drawing classes offer child-friendly and relevant subject matter to spark interest and increase knowledge retention, never losing sight that children learn best when they are engaged and entertained. Our drawing programs are based on an acclaimed, step-by-step drawing method that works hand-in-hand with original art curriculum developed by a team of educators and artists. Our multisensory approach to learning meets every child at their level. Weekly sessions are designed so a child can be enrolled from preschool to sixth grade and never repeat a lesson. This allows students to continually build skills and develop their personal style and creativity.

SOCCER STARS

When:  K-5th– April 22nd – June 3rd on Mondays from 10am-11am

Super Soccer Stars works with elite early childhood, elementary, middle school, and high school programs and is the largest and most popular soccer development program for young children. All of our classes are non-competitive, using positive reinforcement to teach children soccer skills in a fun, engaging, educational environment.  We create a specific curriculum tailored to each school’s needs. Our unique age-specific curriculum is designed by a combination of early childhood, behavioral, and soccer specialists to ensure that each child is learning, improving their self-confidence, and having a blast from the moment the whistle blows.
