Below are important resources for the 2026-2027 school year.
Playground supervision begins at 7:45AM. Students arriving at school before 7:45 AM must be supervised by a parent/guardian until 7:45AM. Students must leave school grounds by 3:15 pm unless supervised by an adult or guardian. If you need after care, please register for our after school program, Right At School CLICK HERE TO REGISTER
ARRIVAL/DISMISSAL TRAFFIC PATTERN
If you are driving to school, please follow the traffic pattern detailed in the link below. Look for staff/parent volunteers with “Drop –Off” signs” on 12th Federal Street. Do stand or park on 12th and Federal Street. This is our designated drop off only. Do not leave your car for any reason in the drop off lane.
Do not block our neighbors’ driveways. Do not park near the parking lot exit up to the main entrance of the school. This is a designated area for school buses. The school must be able to turn right exiting the parking lot.
There are staff in green/yellow vest supervising the playground area. The staff will escort your child to the lunchroom for breakfast. School staff will escort classrooms into the building at 8:00 am.
LATE ARRIVALS: Students arriving after 8:05 must be escorted by a parent/guardian into the main office. Parents must sign in tardy students. Please do NOT send your child in alone or with a sibling.
Important reminders to prevent traffic congestion:
- Do not stand /park on Federal Street between the hours of 7:30 am – 8:05 am
- Do not turn right on 14th Plymouth Court (first stop sign). Proceed west to 14th Federal Street (second stop sign) and make a right turn.
- Never drive North on Plymouth Court. Plymouth Court is a one way street for South Loop Families only.
- Do Not park in bus lanes located on Plymouth Court.
- Do Not double park adjacent to the orange cones located in the bus lanes
- DO NOT EXIT your car for any reason.
- Continue to move forward on Federal Street- Do not hop around the car ahead of you.

DISMISSAL:
Students must be picked up by an approved adult, sibling or approved guardian by 3:05 pm. Students are not supervised after 3:05 pm. Our partners, Right at School,offer after-care- CLICK HERE TO REGISTER . Students are only released to adults listed on the emergency form during enrollment. SUPPLY DROP-OFF
Families can drop off labeled school supplies on Monday August 17th – 24th between the hours of 8:30 am – 2:30 pm. Label with your child’s full name and grade level.
Families will be directed to the gym to put supplies on tables for corresponding homerooms.
Uniform Policy: Students must wear their school uniform on the first day of school
The South Loop Elementary School uniform consists of solid navy-blue bottoms and white tops:
- Bottoms: Solid Navy blue uniform pants, shorts, capris, skirts, leggings, dresses to the knee. Jeans are not permitted.
- Tops: Solid white shirts with sleeves. Sweaters and sweatshirts may be white or navy blue.
- The only permitted logo is the South Loop Elementary School logo or motto. South Loop School’s spirit wear can be worn anytime
- Tank tops, brand logos, stripes, polka-dots, etc. are not permitted.

- Outerwear & Accessories: Outerwear (coats & jackets), tights, socks, shoes, and hair accessories are at your discretion. Shoes should be appropriate for school activities, including recess.
- Flip flops, open-toe shoes, sandals, crocs, and skate shoes are not permitted.
- General uniform items can be purchased at Lands’ End, Target, Sears, JCPenney, Zemsky’s, Amazon, Primark, H & M, Old Navy, or Children’s Place.

- Gently used options are sold at our Resale Shop, opened periodically throughout the school year.
P.E.Uniforms
Your child will be assigned a particular day of the week for P.E. class. A South Loop Elementary School P.E. uniform is required on the student’s assigned P.E. day.
- The mandatory South Loop School P.E. Uniform consists of solid navy blue shorts or sweatpants and a solid gray top
- Wearing a solid blue shirt and solid gray pants is not an approved gym uniform.
- Gray SLES P.E. shirts, gray sweatshirts, blue shorts, or pants can be purchased at the school’s spirit shop https://southloopshop.com.
- Gym/Tennis Shoes are required for P.E. Students will not participate in P.E. without the required P.E. uniform or gym shoes.
