• Better attendance, increased motivation, and self-esteem
• Decreased use of drugs and alcohol
• Fewer instances of violent behavior

The earlier and more intensely parents are involved, the more beneficial the effects. Whether involvement includes working with child(ren) on learning at home or participating in roles as a volunteer, advocate, or decision-maker, each commitment leads to better student achievement.

At South Loop Elementary School we provide resources for parents to help students learn at home with parental direction, improve school-home communication, manage student progress, and provide opportunities for volunteering.
