Ways to Give

Below are some ways to financially support South Loop Elementary School. Donations made to the school are used to enrich curricular programs, capital improvements, and technical needs beyond the CPS budget.

A special thanks to the businesses and individuals who give generously to our school.  Your continued support continues to improve the future for our school, students, and community.


One-time donations are made through Friends & Family of South Loop, Inc., a 501(c) 3 corporation, and 100% of the contributions benefit the school and are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.

You may be able to double your contribution to South Loop School as many businesses and corporations match employee donations given to non-profit organizations. Check whether your employer participates in gift matching, or connect with your Human Resource or Community Relations Department.

Businesses and individuals who give in-kind donations are our Community Champions, as they provide our students better access to goods and services and increase fundraising opportunities. Some examples are below:

  • Goods: computers, technology, furniture, office equipment.
  • Services: meeting space, printing services, photography, enrichment courses for school or events.
  • Expertise: legal, tax, or business advice; marketing and website development; strategic planning.
  • Cash equivalents: stocks, bonds, and mutual funds; airline points.

Become a Community Champion today 


Participate in a great initiative to raise money for South Loop Elementary School through the Box Tops for Education program.

When using products from General Mills, Kleenex, Ziploc, and many more, simply clip the box top(s) and return them to South Loop Elementary School. Box Top drop boxes are located at each school building and each Box Top earns 10 cents for the school, historically providing the school $1,000 per year.
