CLASS NEWS

I am back teaching 1st grade!  This year I have a smaller class which is wonderful.  Room 220 also has 2 sets of windows so it is very bright and cheerful.  I have 2 daughters Quinn and Keiran, ages 15 and 12.  Quinn has already met the class! This is my 24th year teaching, 19 years as a Librarian and 5th year as a 1st Grade Teacher.  I’m looking forward to a great year!

Hello Room 220 Families!

Summer is coming to an end, but I am excited to get the school year started! We are going to have a great year together! Please refer to South Loop’s website for the supply list to set your child up for success this school year. Here are a few ideas to help get your child get ready for the first days of school:

  • Help your child get back on a school schedule so they will be well rested and have a great start to the year! First graders do not nap  but we sure do have a lot of fun learning!
  • Talk with your child about some learning goals for first grade. What do they want to learn? What do they hope first grade will be like?
  • Ask your child to think of something exciting from the summer to share with the class. Did you take any trips? Who did you spend time with?

I look forward to meeting you and your child on the first day of school–Tuesday, September, 3rd! Have a great last few weeks of summer!

Sincerely,
Mrs. Martin-Eatinger
