I have been at South Loop School since 2006. First as a student teacher, then I was hired officially In 2007. I spent 5 years teaching 4th grade, which I loved. Since then, I taught 5th-7th Grade Social Studies for five years, and now I teach media literacy/technology for grades K-8. I also serve as the school’s technology coordinator. I graduated in 2007 with my B.A. in Elementary Education and got my Masters in Ed. in 2012. I am also a Google Certified Educator! Aside from my role as a teacher and the techco, I also facilitate our school’s 7th/8th grade yearbook club. Being the yearbook advisor has been one of my favorite extracurricular activities to work on since 2010!
When I’m not at SL, I love to spend time with family, especially my daughter Penelope. We love concerts, parks, and most recently I’ve become a “Dance Mom”! I love to support her and her competitive dance team, as well as my nephew who plays travel baseball and travel soccer. I love reading on my kindle or listening to audiobooks (especially on my long commutes to the northside).
