Fourth grader Sinan Abuzayd will compete against 51 other participants at the Chicago Public Schools Citywide Spelling Bee on March 14, 2019 at Lindblom Math and Science Academy. We are very excited and proud of Sinan. When I asked him what his strategy was to prepare for the bee, he said “I’m going to study really hard”. I am confident he is going to do a phenomenal job! South Loop School is proud of you!
I’d also like to give a shout out to former South Loop Students Riya and Maya Joshi. Maya will also be participating in the city wide bee, while her sister Riya will go straight to the national bee!
The winner of the city bee gets a trip to Washington D.C. and a spot at the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
