The 2019 Boosterthon is up and running! You can donate money and have your kids get awesome prizes. Those prizes include a headband, a water bottle, a glow rocket, an electric scooter and wireless headphones.
I interviewed one of the Boosterthon team members. They’ve been coming to South Loop for the last 4-5 years. They have different teams for different cities and states.
To help students learn teamwork and other life skills, they have fun, entertaining, participatable videos and have everyone joins in getting pledges for their run. This year, as of Jan. 29, 2019, the school has gotten pledges from 39 of the 50 states.
“Every year it gets more and more fun,” the Boosterthon team member said.
They try to have fun challenges and rewards for classes with the most pledges. During the run, they play cool music, have crazy lights, dance and are very energetic.
Because of the cold weather closing schools, the fun run dates have changed. The new dates are:
Monday, February 4:
- 9:30-10:30 | 2nd grade
- 10:30-11:30 | Kindergarten
- 11:30-12:30 | 1st
- 1:15-2:15 | 3rd
Tuesday, February 5th:
- 8:45-9:45 | 8th
- 9:45-10:45 | 7th
- 10:45-11:45 | 5th
- 12:30-1:30 | 6th
- 1:30-2:30 | 4th
