The class lines up in front of the teacher, everyone is nervous. This is the 4th grade spelling bee in Ms. Chan’s homeroom. Kids have been preparing for days for this event. Now it is here.
15 people remained after the first round. Only because “drastic” had a drastic impact on the number of contestants. In the second round several people surmised the spelling of “surmised” incorrectly.
Then, after all that, Cooper Somers was the final winner, or should I say the “vinyl” winner. Simone Barnes also advanced as the runner-up.
