Wednesday’s second annual First Responders Dinner was a huge success. Many first responders came, and this year’s BETA club was a wonderful host. There were police, firefighters, and emergency medical technicians (EMTs). It was very fun talking to some of the guests. Some of them came in full uniform and let the kids try on their gear. The food was amazing, and everyone had a great time. Some of the guests even enjoyed free chair massages and acupuncture to relax.
One of the highlights was introducing the new Hero Wall, which is a tribute to Commander Paul Bauer and recognizes community and school heroes. Every grade made cards for the first responders, and they were taped next to the Hero Wall, or displayed at the tables. Guests took the cards back to their stations (along with food) to share with first responders who could not make it.
We are looking forward to having another one next year!
