Dear South Loop Families,
It is that time of year again for me to make an appeal for your participation in our Annual Spring Benefit online auction.
Funds raised are overseen by Friends and Family of South Loop School (FFSLS). For those who are unfamiliar with the organization, it is an auxiliary non-profit that supports our school curriculum and extracurricular activities. FFSLS funds provide additional in-class instructional materials, support staff’s professional growth, and support new programming to support students’ SEL and Academic needs. Your support/donations close our school’s operations gap funded by the State.
WHY WE NEED TO FUNDRAISE YEARLY
Our fundraising goal for the spring is $75,000. This Spring Benefit fundraising goals will ensure we are funded for the early needs of the upcoming school year such as:
- Fine Arts Partnerships:Photography Club, Opera For All, United Voices
- Social Emotional programs to target mental health: Behavioral Team Mentoring and Counseling
- Student Clubs/Programs: National Junior Beta, Chess, Chemistry Club, Math Club, Common Thread Cooking Class
- Sports Teams : Purchasing uniforms for sports teams: volleyball, soccer, track, cheer, flag football; Repair and maintenance of band instruments;
- Student Incentives: Monthly Leader in Me, School dances, Before and End of year activities
- Instruction: Consumable workbooks across all content areas, online resources, and instructional magazines.
