Your child’s results will be posted to your online application account on Friday, March 14th, between 5 pm and 11:59 pm. To access the results on Friday, March 14th, go to GoCPS portal after 5 pm, click ‘Log In’ and log in to your account with your username and password. If you cannot log in to your account, click the “Forgot Password” button on the site.
Deadline to Accept or Decline Offers
The deadline for families to accept or decline offers is Friday, April 4th at 5pm.
Applicants who receive an offer will need to accept or decline their offer through the GoCPS online account by the deadline listed above. Offers will expire after this date. Only one offer can be accepted but decisions can be changed up until the accept/decline deadline. Accepting an offer will automatically decline all other offers that are open or previously accepted. Principal Discretion
Principal Discretion is the process that allows Selective Enrollment High School principals to fill a designated number of seats, outside of the regular selection process, based on information provided through Application Packages submitted by students.
The Principal Discretion application period for the 2024-2025 school year opens at 9 am Wednesday, March 19th and ends at 5 pm on April 4tth.
The Selective Enrollment High School Principal Discretion Handbook provides step-by-step instructions for submitting a Principal Discretion Application Package and contains the guidelines and requirements for the process.
PLEASE NOTE:
You can accept an offer and still apply to Principal Discretion. In fact, I highly recommend you accept an offer because there’s no guarantee that your child will be accepted via this application. Thus, if you decline an offer and don’t receive a principal discretion seat your child will only be able to attend their neighborhood school.
PLEASE NOTE:
None of us here at the school from Ms. Shelton or the other administrators, the teachers, nor myself can access your GoCPS accounts to accept/decline offers. Waitlists are updated nightly and as students add themselves to available waitlists your number or position may go up or down. The GoCPS help line is 773.553.2060
Also, critically important waitlist numbers of 15 or higher to selective enrollment programs (i.e. Jones CTE program) the probability of getting the offer decreases significantly. Waitlist numbers of 50 or above at any other program (i.e. Lincoln Park IB) also very unlikely they will give you an offer. If you still want the chance to get an OFFER from a waitlist school NEVER remove yourself from the list. These lists will continue to update up until the 20th day of school in the fall.
