Dear South Loop Middle School Families,
This is a reminder that students must be picked up or walk home at 3:30 PM unless they are participating in a school-led after-school program or enrolled in the Right At School Aftercare Program
Our middle school students do not always make the best choices in physical interactions and play with their peers if they are not under the direct supervision of an adult.
This results in unnecessary conflict and altercations. Therefore, students cannot be left unattended on the playground or outside of the school building after 3:30 PM.
Furthermore, the playground is a designated space for the after-school programs. It is utilized by the Right At School program. The supervisors for this program are only responsible for the well-being of the student enrolled in their program. Students who are not enrolled in this program cannot stay on the playground after school without direct adult supervision from their parents or guardian.
Please make arrangements for your child to be picked up from school at 3:30 PM. We understand that emergencies may arise. If this is the case and you are going to be late picking up your child, please communicate this to the main office or a school administrator as soon as possible. Thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation with this matter.
