Hi South Loop Families!
We are hoping to welcome South Loop kiddos for a last-minute opening in the Chicago Yacht Club Foundation’s Monroe Sailing Camp this summer at Monroe Harbor! Please read this email for information about the program and registration details.
Read more about Monroe Sailing and our other programs here!
Our Monroe Sailing Camp offers an engaging, active introduction to Lake Michigan! A day in Sailing Camp consists of several of the following fun activities: Swimming, sailing on our J100 Keelboats, and marine-based STEM education lessons. This is a great option for youth who may be new to boating and want to have a great time on the water with friends!
Camp Dates: 8/11-8/12
Organization: South Loop
Method of Transportation: Carpools, parent/guardian drop off, no transportation organized by CYCF
Start/End Time: Camp starts at about 9 and goes to 3 with a break for lunch
Registration and Waivers:
- Students must have a signed waiver on file. I have also attached a PDF of the waiver if that is easier for you.
- Please register your student here
*Please note the minimum age to participate is 10 years old
. For safety reasons we can not have a child participate who is younger than 10 years old*
YOUTH WHO SHOW UP WITHOUT A SIGNED WAIVER AND REGISTRATION WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE.
Behavior expectations:
Our number one priority is the physical and mental safety of all students. We have a two-strike policy to ensure that. The first strike is a warning and a conversation with the participant and their adult; if the behavior happens again, then the participant will not be allowed back. We are working around sailboats with motors, water, and docks, so we do not allow any pushing, punching, running, etc. We also follow the same expectations that South Loop does, so all of those apply as well. If you have any questions or would like more details, please let me know!
