Closing out the 2020-21 School Year

South Loop Lion Pride,

It is hard to believe this school year is finally behind us. I am proud of our school community and all we accomplished this school year. We are truly SOUTH LOOP STRONG!!

As we go into the summer break, I wanted to remind everyone to focus on self-care; travel, visit family and friends, enjoy the outdoors, stick with your new DIY projects/hobby, just enjoy and appreciate life, safely, of course!

As always, more now than ever, it’s truly an honor to be a part of the SOUTH LOOP SCHOOL community. I wish you a safe, healthy, relaxing and fun summer break.

Fine Arts Elective 2021-2022

Each year, 4th-8th grade middle school students can select which fine arts class they would like to attend for the school year.  This year, students will select their top two choices for a fine arts elective. Parents, please have a discussion with your child prior to assigning them to a fine arts elective.

Student requests will be honored on a first come basis. Please realize that students may not receive their first choice. Once assigned to a fine arts elective group, students must remain in that group for the entire school year and will attend all specials classes (P.E. & Media) with the same group. Requests to change electives because a student did not receive their first choice, or has changed their mind, will not be honored.

**7th & 8th grade students who have not had at least 1 year of training on a musical instrument, may not select band as their fine arts elective.

Please complete the form below to indicate the student’s top two choices for a fine arts elective. Forms must be completed by Friday, June 25, 2021 at 5:00PM. Students who do not complete the form by the deadline, will be assigned to a fine arts class by administrators.

**In order to access this form, students must be signed in to their CPS account.

Wait on CPS guidance prior to ordering school spirit wear.
