Dear South Loop Elementary School Families:
Introducing the CYC Foundation After School STEAM Program specifically for South Loop Elementary School! Please note that this is for students who have not previously participated.
This course runs on Mondays in September after school from 4-5:15pm**. The first day of the program is on Monday 9/16. We are excited for your sailor to spend time on the water and in the classroom with us learning about sailing. Register at this link, and sign the waiver sent to your email afterward.

Chicago Yacht Club – Monroe Station
400 E. Monroe St.
Course Description: In this course, students will start with an on-the-water sailing experience on a 48′ racing boat to learn about the aspects of sailing that require a knowledge of science! In subsequent weeks, students will learn about the science of sailing through STEAM lessons and challenges.

Monday 9/16, 4-7pm** Class 1: Sailing Experience
Monday 9/23, 4-5:15pm Class 2: STEAM Lesson
Monday 9/30, 4-5:15pm Class 3: STEAM Lesson
Monday 10/7, 4-5:15pm Class 4: Final STEAM Challenge and Celebration

**Please note that the first day of class will be an extended session, 4-7 p.m., to ensure a meaningful sailing experience. This day will also include dinner.
