CIS of Chicago is helping spread the word about the Diverse Learners Grant, a $500 grant for families with K-12 students with disabilities. The grant is still available for families for the beginning of this school year.
- Awards – $500/student, up to 2 students per household
- Must reside in City of Chicago
- Household Income < 300% of the Federal Poverty Level (school can provide free/reduced lunch paperwork)
- Student enrolled in K-12 Public or Private School (no PreK students)
- Student has a disability covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act (school can provide IEP paperwork)
- Legal status — applicants will not be affected in negative way and will still qualify for funds
Families can apply online, but if they’d like in-person assistance for applying, Ada S. McKinley is hosting an Application Enrollment event: Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at 7640 S. Vincennes Avenue
