Field Museum Summer Teen Volunteer Program
Have you ever wanted to know how a mummy is wrapped, the difference between succulents and epiphytes, or how to find fossils?  If so, the Field Museum may be the place for you.

The Field Museum is accepting applications for our Summer 2022 Teen Volunteer Program!  Over the course of the summer, teen volunteers explore the stories and science of the Field Museum and then work to share those stories with guests.  Our teen volunteers are outgoing, adaptable, and love learning about the world around them.

More information about the Teen Volunteer Program including information about the application and interview process can be found on the Field Museum’s website.  Applications are due by March 14th, 2022.

STEM Virtual Conference- Girls 6th-8th Grade

Expanding Your Horizons. EYH is a volunteer-based organization that hosts an annual one-day STEM conference to excite and inspire young girls from 6th-8th grade to pursue STEM careers. This year, we are happy to announce that our 10th annual Chicago conference will take place virtually through Zoom on Saturday, March 26th, 2022 from 12:30pm-3pm.

At our conference, students will work with women scientists from all over Chicago and engage in virtual workshops that cover topics from math, physics, biomedical engineering and so much more. The goal is to introduce the girls to some STEM careers and show them that STEM is fun!

As a Chicago based volunteer organization, it is our goal to reach girls from schools who may not have the funding to provide their students with these types of interactive STEM experiences. It would mean a great deal to us if you could share this information with your students and encourage girls to register for this event.

Registration for the conference is now open to everyone. The last day to register will be March 23rd and students that live in Illinois who register by Feb 19th can receive care packages with materials for hands-on workshops. For more information, please visit our website at www.eyhchicago.com.
