Exciting News: Middle School Library – Scheduled Reopening Week of October 28

Dear Parents and Students,

We are thrilled to announce that our school library will officially reopen and is better than ever! Thanks to all of the hard work from the Library Volunteers to reorganize the shelves, inventory and label all the books and to set up a Self Service Check In/Out system.

What’s New?

Organized Space: We have revamped the library layout, making it easier to navigate and find your favorite books and set up sections for popular titles and group reading.

Self-Checkout System: Our new self-checkout system allows students to borrow books independently. This not only promotes responsibility but also helps us keep track of our inventory. With this system, we can gather important data to understand which books are in demand and make informed decisions about future purchases.  Library cards will be issued to students based on their student ID Number. They can scan or type in their number to check out books.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Friends and Family of South Loop Elementary School who contributed to these enhancements.

Come Explore!

We invite all students and parents to come visit the library, explore our new resources, and take advantage of the self-checkout system. Whether you’re looking for the latest bestsellers or classic literature, or doing research, there’s something here for everyone.

Call for Volunteers: We welcome parent volunteers to help with re-shelving of books and general library organization throughout the school year. Volunteers will need at least a Level II Volunteer (background check or bioprinting NOT required) to participate. To sign up, please email .

Thank you for your continued support, and we can’t wait to see you in the library!

Warm regards,

Middle School Library Team
