Tutoring Chicago provides individualized academic and mentorship programming to 1st-12th grade students facing financial barriers with the guidance and support of a community of dedicated volunteers. By participating in the Tutoring Chicago program, students are methodically matched one-to- one with a volunteer tutor/mentor and meet with them through the same method, on the same day and at the same time each week.
Program Description: Tutoring Chicago has an Elementary, Middle, and High School Tutoring program, meaning they span all grade levels! Their tutoring program focuses on math, reading, homework support, social emotional learning and mentorship.
Pairs meet once a week for 90 mins. Students and tutors work together on Monday, Tuesday, OR Wednesday from 6:00pm – 7:30pm. In-person and virtual options available.
In-person tutoring will be held at the following locations:
- Lincoln Park/Near North at the St. Vincent de Paul Center, 2145 N Halsted St.
- North West at Mozart (Amadeus) Park, 2036 N Avers Ave
- South Side at Shine Bright Community Center, 8650 S Cottage Grove Ave
- Near West/Pilsen at the Union League Boys & Girls Club, 2157 W 19th St.
