Last Chance to Register for Chicago’s Premier Tuition-Free STEM Program for Grades 4-12

CHICAGO, October 8, 2025—The Chicago Pre-College Science & Engineering Program (ChiS&E) announces that final registration for its fall session ends on Thursday, October 16, 2025, for its weekly Saturday classes.  The session begins on Saturday, October 18, at Langston Hughes Elementary, located at 240 West 104th Street, Chicago, IL 60628, for grades 4 through 8. The year begins for high school students with a family field trip to the Grainger College of Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Subsequent Saturday classes will be held at Kenwood Academy, 5015 South Blackstone Avenue, Chicago, IL 60615.

ChiS&E’s tuition-free classes have opened doors to STEM careers for Chicago students for the past 17 years. The Fall 2025 classes include: 

4th Grade: Civil Engineering

5th Grade: Geometry

6th Grade: Fundamentals of Algebra

7th Grade: Mathematics of the Physical World (Physics and Algebra)

8th Grade: Computer Science

9th and 10th Grades: All about Energy

11th and 12th Grades: Electrical and Computer Engineering
