Yesterday was the start of Hispanic Heritage Month, a special time for us to learn about and celebrate the incredible contributions of Hispanic cultures. As the fastest-growing racial and ethnic minority in our country, it’s more important than ever to recognize their profound impact on our communities and to embrace the rich traditions and culture they have so generously shared.
In a world that can sometimes feel divided, we believe that understanding and compassion are our greatest strengths. This month, we have an opportunity to practice empathy by listening to new stories and seeing the world through different perspectives. At South Loop School, we are committed to being a beacon of inclusivity. Our school is one of the most diverse in the city, and we will always honor and celebrate the many different cultures and traditions that make up our wonderful school community. We stand with all the diverse cultures represented in our school and will always embrace the richness they bring.
Our teachers will be providing a rich and culturally relevant curriculum and activities for our students this month. We also encourage families to explore the many wonderful events happening in the Chicago community. Below are some resources to get you started.
