We hope your season is merry and bright and that your family is excited for our upcoming winter break. This time of year is important for connection, reflection and gratitude, and the Friends and Family Board of South Loop School is grateful for the support of many community members this school year.
Whether you participated in the fall fundraiser by lacing up your running/walking shoes (and maybe a costume!), made a donation or helped with one of our many volunteer opportunities, WE THANK YOU! CPS budgets continue to be tight, and the generosity of this community enables South Loop Elementary to support our kids in their academic and social-emotional growth, and prepare them to be global citizens.
This year, the generosity of our community has supported South Loop School in so many ways. Some examples include:
• Equipment critical to learning like the new high-capacity color copier in the primary building to provide the kids with nice color worksheets, or the 3-D Printer being used in the FUSE lab in the upper grades
• Promoting student life in many ways like providing uniforms for volleyball and basketball, funding the chess club and Chicago Children’s Choir, and providing pizzas for the Winter Dance
• Professional development of our teachers who guide and inspire our kids every day
And there’s more to do to ensure South Loop Elementary remains proud, responsible, inclusive, diverse and excellent! Please consider making a gift, of any size, to help start the new year strong!
Warmest wishes,
Friends and Family of South Loop School Board Members
