Thanks for Attending and Participating in South Loop Around the World 2023

Dear South Loop School Community,

Thank you all for helping to plan and host our amazing South Loop Around the World event last night; this is always one of my favorite events of the year as we get to see our school’s truly remarkable diversity on full display.  I want to particularly thank Abby Dryer, who spearheaded the event, Josh Ellis, who made sure we had delicious food to eat and Jaclyn Stuard, who designed and worked with the printer to create the passports..

Last night was a full on extravaganza of cultures from around the world, with band performances, a “March of Nations”, Dandiya/Garba Dance, Bollywood/Tollywood dances, and Naima Harvey Indian Dance.  In all, we had over thirty countries represented!

The food at South Loop Around the World is always incredible, and last night was no exception.  I am so grateful for all who participated in this wonderful event. And if you weren’t able to attend, be sure to mark your calendars so that you can join us next year to learn about other countries and represent your culture with pride.

Yours in Education,

Principal Shelton
