We are very excited to welcome South Loop Families and Students back to a new school year. We hope that everyone had a fun and restful summer enjoying the many outdoor events in our beautiful city, traveling or spending time with family and friends.
In this email, you will find important start of the school year dates, the parent handbook and a few school policies I want to highlight that required a great deal of administration’s time discussing with students/families last school year.
Please take time to read the Parent Handbook in detail. It has a lot of very important information for the upcoming school year. The handbook can answer many of your school-related questions you may have.

2023-2024 Classroom Assignment: Requests for classroom changes will not be honored.
Class lists will be finalized on August 18, 2023. You can check your child’s homeroom by following the steps below:
Aspen Parent Portal: Parents will use Aspen Parent Portal to check their child’s grades and receive grade-related alerts. If you provided the school with an email address you should receive a verification email to set up your Parent Portal account within 48-72 hours after your child is enrolled. If you have not received this email within 72 hours, check your junk mail to be sure it wasn’t delivered there. Once you receive the email, follow the steps in the email to set up your Parent Portal account. If you do not receive an email, reach out to the school for support. You may also use the websites below for more information regarding Aspen Parent Portal accounts and tech support.

Back to School Picnic: Pre-K- 8th Grade Families join our school community for a day of food, music, carnival games, roller skating and meeting our school community families.
We are asking every family to donate one item of (NO PEANUT PRODUCTS): cookie, cupcakes, fruit snacks, individual bags of chips, brownies, rice krispy treats, or any dessert/treat.
